My services are free to you.  I earn money by being paid a commission from the suppliers whose services I sell.  Some of the services I provide to my clients are non-commissionable but necessary to complete the tour package.  For example airline tickets, National Park fees, recompression chamber fee and the airport transfers are all non-commissionable.  Credit card companies charge merchants between 3 to 6% of the TOTAL amount charged.  This may not sound like much but it is a huge percentage of the commission.  Couple this with the fact I would lose 3 to 6% of the money collected via credit card for services which are not commissionable and it is easy to understand why I do not accept them.
In the past. I would let people use a credit card if they would pay this fee but I was told by the credit card company that it was against the "rules" to pass the fee on to the clients so I discontinued accepting them.
